Published for and by the Midwest aviation community since 1978.

Midwest Flyer Magazine was founded in 1978 by Dave and Peggy Weiman. Dave Weiman is editor and publisher, and an active pilot and aircraft owner. Peggy Weiman is production director. The magazine features articles by more than 20 contributing writers and photographers, and seven columnists.

Midwest Flyer Magazine is focused on serving four very distinct, but complementary markets within a specific geographic region of the country: Aircraft Owners & Pilots, Airport Officials, Aviation Businesses Owners & Managers, and Aviation Educators in the Midwest. The publication serves these groups with a marketing strategy that reaches their customers, and an editorial profile, which promotes the industry, and strives to protect and develop airports.

Editorial Content: In addition to airport news and information, editorial topics include travel destinations, airport restaurant reviews, fly-in and air show reports, legislative and legal issues, aircraft maintenance, human interest stories, flight safety, awards and recognition, questions and answers from aviation experts, product reviews, new aircraft and technology, insightful editorials, and coverage of major aviation events, such as the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) Aviation Summit, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture, Sun 'n Fun, state aviation/airport conferences, and state aviation halls of fame programs.
